 ownCloudis a storage service for location-independent data synchronization and storage. 

 

 

Description

ownCloud is a tool that allows you to store your files on a server via a browser or a client, to share them with others, or to transfere them to your other devices. The files are managed in folders or directories. All settings and actions are always affecting the entire folder with all it´s content. These folders can be created, shared, downloaded, and deleted. The hosting environment ownCloud is provided for DARIAH-DE by the GWDG.

ownCloud makes especially sense for the transfer of large files or a multitude of files. ownCloud is also able to monitor changes, which can be transmitted and received in the background. Therefore all files are always up-to-date, to everyone who has access to the data.
